As a Regional title holder from ontario, I arrived at the Holiday Inn in Toronto at 4:00 in the afternoon.

At 6:30 pm we entered into the ballroom at the hotel to attend the Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Search for Miss Teenage Canada. I was feeling very anxious ad excited. I was really looking forwards for the week and meeting all of the girls!

The sponsor party was very fun, the people were great! I enjoyed all the sponsors tables. they are unique, tasty, fabulous and last but not least amazing.

Nuvango logoNuvango created a shareable moment center by offering up some designer clothes and a full length mirror. This is a girl party mainstay. Later in the week our ensemble will be making a visit to the Nuvango headquarters (Tuesday July 19)

VPI Canada logoThere were free designer sunglasses from V.P.I. Canada, one pair for each regional delegate.

I found my pair very edgy. They protray my personality perfectly also they match my hair colour and complements my completion.  Mirrored Clubmaster Sunglasses (2512) for sale online for $28.00 plus shipping and handling. Thanks VPI Canada – I’ll make you proud.

Anyone can find the round frame vintage style sunglasses at VPI Canada sunglasses e-store, and there are over eight styles to choose from … these fit my face perfectly.

Here’s a pic of me wearing my shades at the party with friends.

RIMMEL LondonRimmel London provided a surplus of products for the girls’ welcome bags. They set up a make-up station with lots of extras. A lot of fun happened here throughout the evening. Find the team on Instagram & Twitter: @rimmelllondoncan, and on Facebook:

social media ggregator hashtagioHashtagio is a Social Media Aggregator and User Generated Marketing Platform that was at the show collecting all our social media tagged with the #MissTeenageCanada2016 and then projecting it live at the party. Even better, they make a single feed URL to which our parents and friends can subscribe to follow along in real time as we experience all the different activities here in Toronto. And the mass of spontaneously issued images and text from all 65 delegates will be archived on this page in the Miss Teenage Canada main site and on the Miss Teen Canada Blog Network / Search for Miss Teenage Canada 2016.

Sweets Canada logo – new 2016Sam Dhutia from Sweets Canada was at the party doing chocolate tastings. Sam made a very informative and delicious chocolate tasting exhibit – after each sampling he generously gave out gourmet chocolate bars , and or edible flower chocolate bars, depending on each delegate’s individual preferences, as discovered during the tastings.

One highlight of the 2016 Search for Miss Teenage Canada was the opening night party where Regional Delegates from across the nation were showered with gifts from Sponsors. Busy corporate CEOs like Sam Dhutia of Qfoods Canada appeared in person and dispensed gifts.

Bradlee Ryall Golf AcademyAnother fun exhibit at the Opening Night Sponsors’ Party was from Bradlee Ryall Golf Academy which teaches golf lessons at six golf courses west of Toronto.

On Weds July 20th we’re all going to the golf academy to play a one-hole golf game for two ladies golf jackets (which are prizes from SWING active wear) at the end of our group lessons on two different courses. Here at the party there was a live mini golf attraction set up for us to practice our putting. Unfortunately I didn’t  win but i came in second place scoring 125 points. My expirence there was really great the golf coches were so nice! plus the food was AMAZING.

Archers Arena logo At the party there was a bow and arrow (with a giant marshmallow on the pointy end) and we all took turns trying to hit a paper target that was setup in the ballroom. We’ll ALL be playing Archery Tag in Toronto at Archers Arena on Thursday July 21st 2016. On that night, look for the hashtag #archerytag. It was a really fun experience going to Arches Arena! I Enjoyed playing tag with all the girls and learning new things

Clifton Hill and Niagara Falls both date back in history beyond 1782. Clifton Hill got its name from Captain Ogden Crieghton (a British Army officer) who named the settlement “Clifton” after a town in England, but it wasn’t until 1812 that Niagara Falls and Clifton Hill became known as a tourist attraction. Clifton Hill wasn’t always a huge attraction because it took many years to develop and turn into a world renowned attraction. It consists of many stores, restaurants, arcade style areas, and beautiful site seeing areas. One of the main attractions Clifton Hill contains is Niagara Falls. This amazing site shows a beautiful waterfall that is 51 meters in height, and 253 meters in width.42255_x1  As seen in the picture above, the Falls is very beautiful and there is a ledge for tourists to look over and take pictures. Besides taking in the beauty of the falls, tourists can go on “The Maid of The Mist” boat ride. This brings people right up to the waterfall, but it also leads to a wet adventure!

The second biggest attraction Clifton Hill offers is the Sky wheel. This enormous ferris wheel stretches 57 meters in height, and offers a great view of all of Clifton Hill and the Niagara Falls. The gondolas offer climate control for a year round sightseeing comfort.

niagara-skywheel-night   At night many people believe it is the best time to go on the Sky wheel because the view of the falls can be magical with all of the beautiful lights. The ride time varies from 8 to 12 minutes in length, but it usually has moments of rest where tourists can be at the top of the wheel and take stunning ariel shots.

After a long day of touring the streets, Clifton hill has many diverse restaurants. They range in all cultures such as Italian, Mexican, and Indian. Many people from across the world comes to visit the exquisite Antica’s pizzeria and Braza Brazilian steak house. Culture is a huge part of my life and  I value that Niagara Falls can accept and incorporate different cultures on Clifton Hill. Antica’s has a masive wood burning fire place once you walk in, it gives you that cozy feel of a homemade Italian dish!. Braza is an open area to welcome all tourists to try a creative style of dining.

In the picture above it shows a meat Gaujo who serves meat in a different style. This is one example of the exotic culture establishment in Clifton Hill.

Overall Clifton Hill is an amazing place that everyone should have a chance to see!

Hello, My name is Natalia I was born in Havana, Cuba with citizenship from birth. Since early childhood I maintain my Cuban culture by studying approximate four months in Havana, Cuba and eight months in Canada. I live In Niagara Falls the daughter of a business man and lawyer. With my experiences in life, I realized I have to give back to the community. I  volunteer at the Community Outreach for the less fortunate.  In the near future my inspiration is to open a charity to help the less fortunate around Canada.

My hobbies include playing golf and gymnastics. My talent is  playing violin. I speak four languages English, Spanish, French and Italian. I’m an artist that puts passion and dedication in all the activities that I participate in. My ambition is to become an inspiration to young girls, by helping them build their inner self-esteem.

The reason why I applied to be in the pageant is because I want to be a role model for the teens that want to follow their dreams. Also for girls to build their confidence because the image of perfect is being over rated. I want everyone to know the definition of perfect is imperfection, cause really in reality imperfection is what defines us.

WOW day 3 and this is the first chance I’ve had time to blog, even though it’s midnight and I should be sleeping BUT I can’t keep you guys waiting any longer. The past 3 days have been so exciting I can’t wait to share it with you all! I’ve met 65 amazing, smart, beautiful, well-rounded girls… yes there is 65 of us! I’m still trying to remember everyones names! It’s been a busy couple of days but I have had such a fun time, this is truly a once in a life time experience and I am going to make sure I enjoy every minute of it because lets face it, time flies when you are having fun!

Here are the highlights of my days so far:

Farren and I the day we arrived

Day 1:

We arrived Saturday July 13th and we got to find out and meet our roommate. I must say I absolutely love my roommate! Her name is Farren Sawers, she is from Alberta and her title is Miss Teen Lethbridge-World 2013. She is the sweetest girl and we get along so well, we definitely click! Especially when we play Spice Girls music while getting ready to wake us up. That day we had a nice little Welcome Party for us which was great because we got to finally meet all the girls we’ve been talking to online forever.

My video shoot outfit

Day 2:

The next day, on Sunday, July 14th, we had a very very busy day! We had our interview, photo shoot and video shoot all in ONE day. This included getting our hair and make up done as well. Now imagine 65 pageant girls rushing around getting ready with 2 or 3 outfit changes and waiting for hair and makeup – just craziness but it’s what makes the experience. I noticed I wasn’t as nervous for my interview as I was at my provincial competition and that just shows how much more comfortable I have gotten! The judges were very friendly and it just felt like a normal conversation with them, I was very happy with it. The photo shoot and video shoot was really fun. I love being in front of the camera so I had a great time with it. But let me tell you, I was excited to kick off my heels, put my feet up and sleep after that day. 🙂

At Breakfast Television

Day 3:

Today, Monday July 15th, has been the best day so far. I’m even saying that and we had to be up at 4:30a.m… and guess what? I’m not a morning person BUT since I was SO excited for the day ahead, I was wide awake and ready to have some fun. We had the amazing opportunity of being on Breakfast Television, which was a surreal experience for me. I also love seeing what goes on behind the scenes, it is really cool to see how it all

CN Tower

works. Next up was the CN Tower which was a little frightening but such a great view. Although I am only 45 minutes away from Toronto, I don’t remember ever being at the top of the CN Tower before…so another ‘check off’ for the bucket list!

Then we headed to the Distillary District which I have never even heard of before and it was such a cute little area, I definitely want to go back one day. We had a scavenger hunt there and what are the odds that “fitness freak me” actually won a protein smoothie from a place called Lileo! YUM! It felt like I was back at home, all I needed was a gym (haha)!

Next, my happiest moment… finding out we get a $50 gift certificate to one of my favourite stores, Costa Blanca. So thankful and grateful for them to sponsor us their clothing. To the left is a picture of the outfit I bought.

New Music Live!

THEN last but certainly not least we aired live on Much Music! The show is called New Music Live and it was probably one of the best experiences ever. I got to meet and take pictures with people I watch on TV all the time – what’s cooler than that?! 🙂

Anyways I am signing off! There will be more pictures of the first 3 days to come, unfortunately they are currently on other peoples cameras right now haha. Goodnight everyone, I have to be up at 6a.m! I won’t tell you what we will be doing tomorrow so you’ll HAVE to tune in and keep checking my blogs for updates hehe.

Society & Body Image

The problem with society is that it expects so much from everyone when really the only person we need to please is ourselves. Everyone thinks they need to look a certain way to be accepted in this world, to be loved, to be called beautiful. Yes I promote health and fitness, no I don’t promote a certain “body type” or how one should look. I want to make the world a HEALTHIER place. Obesity is taking over, it’s one of the biggest causes of death. I’m here to help motivate and encourage kids, teenagers, adults, to be healthy. Part of being healthy is being active and eating right. That is why my Instagram shows different exercises you can do and healthy foods you should eat. We are all made different and we all have different body types. My body is naturally muscular/skinny (I’m sure most people don’t know that I literally eat like a man. I have a very fast metabolism so I am always hungry and I am always eating). Just because a girl is rounder with more curves doesn’t mean she isn’t healthy and just because a girl is skinnier doesn’t mean she isn’t healthy. Healthy comes in all different shapes and sizes. As long as you are happy with how you look and how you feel from the inside out then that is what matters most! I promote health and fitness for the people that need a boost of happiness and self-confidence. I promote it so the people stop hating on themselves and their body each and every day. I promote it so people can love themselves , feel happier and have a lot more energy to LIVE LIFE! Being healthy doesn’t mean you have to have a six pack and your thighs shouldn’t touch – that is just how I am built from being an athlete. I don’t believe in going on diets or starving yourself and I would never promote that. I promote HEALTH, HAPPINESS, CONFIDENCE, EMPOWERMENT AND LOVING YOURSELF. After I quit cheerleading and wasn’t playing sports anymore, I stopped watching what I ate and didn’t work out as much. I felt sluggish, I had no energy, I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t healthy inside. I may have looked healthy on the outside but inside I was not. I became skinny, and once I got back to eating healthy and working out I added on more muscles and definition – which is what I wanted! Don’t listen to society of how you should look – YOU have the choice, you are in control of your body. But most of all you need to be healthy because health is the most important thing to have in life! That is why I promote health and fitness – because their are so many benefits, it improves one’s overall quality of life, and it is one thing we have absolute control and power over!
